Since we went to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, we decided to stop by Texas Discovery Gardens in Dallas on our way back to Houston.
They have an amazing butterfly house there.
Harper was festive in her outfit choice.
It was amazing to see the butterflies up close, especially how the colors differ from when their wings are open and when they are closed.
This is an Atlas moth. It was bugger than my hand!
Beau was brave enough to hold a butterfly corpse. (But I don't think he is that happy about it).
This was definitely the Hungry Caterpillar.
One interesting fact I learned was that the Atlas Moth's have a pattern on their wings to look like a snake head to scare off predators. Do you see it?
After the butterfly house, we walked through the gardens. Such a beautiful place! A sweet older lady who worked their bought the kids each something from the gift shop! Beau got a light up frog and Harper got a lollipop. Happy kids!
